I wish I could become the best possessor of all the ceramics in this world! These days, pottery dates are often said self-satisfactory, as it avoids the melancholic moments of a person. It ignites the nervous system to enagage and mould something new, something different.
While I appreciate the material beauty of ceramics and pottery, my admiration extends beyond the frameworks, glaze, and the hues of the artpiece. Each hand-made item resonates the labour, craftmanship and the artistic vision.
THERE IS NO ONE PIECE AS SAME AS ANOTHER !
Mass-produced objects can never be compared with hand made pottery. Every hand made work carries traces of human labour, fallacies, imperfections, and uniqueness. That wraps up the idendity of each curated piece.
Each peice of such prodcued art should be celebrated in its own artistic background irrespective of the context in which it is exhibited. No work of ceramics is intended to be exagerrated for the futurisic gallaries, ornate shelves and the elite gazes it would acquire. Whether it be white walls, cement textures, muted canvases, or not so up-to-dated achitectural aesthetics, a fine crafted peice of pottery with the imperfect decisions of the craftperson should be appreciated. Its value and beauty are not determined by whether it occupies an elite gallery, or a luxurios home, or an ordinary house.
The aesthetic and artistic worth of an art piece transcends all social and class distinctions. To engage with pottery, therefore, is not only to appreciate its form and beauty but also to appreciate the skill and creativity of the craftsperson.
